Fresh starts are seductive.  The idea of a new you, a new beginning can be tremendously motivating.  The statistics however, simply aren't on your side.  By mid to late February many if not most resolutions have gone the way of the Egg Nog and Fruit Cake - they are simply no longer on the menu.

Well here are some things that can stay on the Menu.  Your fitness menu.  And it's not the exercises or particular foods that I'm speaking of.  It's the support and systems you must call in to keep you accountable and on track.  Yes, the exercise will be there but there's so much more than that in my favorite online resources.

First Up - head over to Stickk.com

I adore this site - they make you commit -but good.  Establish your goal in a contract format - be it drinking more water, losing 10lbs or running a 5K.  You can opt to bet on yourself with cash or without.  And here's the awesome factor- if you decide to put money down - each week you miss your target goal - your money goes to a charity of your choice.  OR an anti-charity if, like me, you're more incentivized that way.

Second: - Sparkpeople.com

Six million people can't be wrong.  Sparkpeople has an unparalleled online community and it's organized by age, interests, goals and pretty much any other grouping strategy you can think of.  What's more they have a robust assortment of resources from recipes to exercise videos as well as Planners, Trackers and general health information.  I highly recommend the Buddy feature - which provides the accountibility so key to success.

Third:FitBottomedGirls.com
An easy to use fitness resource with a few items worth mentioning.  A great "Nosh" section to help steer you in snackables that fit the bill.  Their Beginner's section is perfect if you're new to the exercise world and the FitLinks are really useful roundups of information listed each week.  This will save you time - so you can work out more, get it?

Help is here and it's a button away.  It's customizable, it's consistent and it works.
